Lasting four hours, the Ocean Safari offers the surreal opportunity to dive through coves, swim past historic shipwrecks, and view the many marine species that call Cape Town’s coastline home. The safari starts with a boat tour led by expert guides. Take in views of the coastline, and with some luck, spot marine life such as seals, dolphins, African penguins, and Sunfish before arriving at the kelp forest. There, the snorkelling part of the trip will officially begin. Depending on conditions, spend between 10 and 40 minutes in the water. Guides will lead the group to ensure safety and comfort while encountering animals such as shy sharks, starfish, anemones, and seabream. To join, travellers must be at least 10 years old and must be able to swim. No prior snorkelling experience is required.
