Situated on a private nature reserve surrounded by a wide variety of plains game and birds, Butjani Lodge is on the malaria free Dinokeng Tourist Route, and close to the town of Cullinan.

The Lodge is perfect for a getaway to revitalise the soul. The well-appointed tented suites are set far apart for privacy and the rates include three course dinner, bed and farmhouse breakfast. Game drives are offered by the lodge.

Guests can relax at the lapa or bar and take a dip in the pool to cool off. Winter evenings guests gather round the fireplace in the cosy lounge and winter skies are spectacular for keen astronomists. Weather depending meals are served outdoors at the lapa or in the dining room.

Guests can relax in their own private chalet or join other guests in the communal lapa for drinks around the fire.

Accommodation

Experience the safari style accommodation in private tented suites with twin or king size beds, a private bathroom and an outside shower. From your bathroom window, look across the bushveld or enjoy a shower under the stars.

Each suite includes complimentary toiletries, tea/coffee facilities and a small bar fridge. The suites are positioned on a raised deck, under thatch, with comfortable chairs and a stunning view of the surrounding landscape.

The Lodge also offers a two-bedroom thatched suite with a shared bathroom. This is ideal for families or those who want to be closer to the dining facilities.

Activities

The advantage of not having dangerous predators allows guests to walk freely, or request a guided nature walk. Cycling and bird watching are popular activities.

Activities close by include a nine-hole golf course at Cullinan, a trip to the quaint diamond mining town of Cullinan, home of the famous Cullinan Diamond, Mystique Monkeys Zoo or a day visit to Dinokeng Big Five Reserve.

Transfers can be arranged from OR Tambo International Airport on request, and your hosts Penny and John McDonald will ensure a warm welcome and a memorable stay.
