One of the greatest gifts you can give your child is to learn to swim – it may save their life one day. Quick Silver Swimming Academy, located in Durbanville, Cape Town, offers swimming lessons for all ages and all levels; from babies, toddlers and children, to adults.

Their two indoor pools, a 10m pool for beginners and 25m pool for competitive squads, are both heated.

Baby swimming lessons are offered to little ones from the age of six months to two and half years. These are fun sessions where moms and babies swim in a group 30-minute session once a week. Swimming skills are taught through a program of play, song, fun exercises and games.

Their Learn to Swim Program caters for swimmers from the age of two and a half, and also caters for adults. This program focuses on teaching water safety as well as stroke development and refining of strokes.

Quick Silver Swimming Academy offers individual attention in a one-on-one lesson, tailored to the needs and level of each swimmer. They also offer group lessons for those swimmers who can benefit from a peer teaching environment.

A bi-annual grading system measures your child’s progress throughout the year. This is a way of motivating the swimmer to strive harder to move to a higher level and to receive recognition for their dedication.

For your convenience, a variety of swimming products are available for purchase from their online store. Their swim nappies are ideal for babies and toddlers as these are one size fits all. They are waterproof, breathable and stretchable. They have side straps on both sides which can be adjusted to size.

Other products include swim caps, wet bags, kick boards and gift vouchers.
