We all know that the cheetah is the fastest land animal, but how many of us know that it is also Africa’s most endangered big cat? Cheetah Outreach, which is based in Cape Town, is dedicated to help conserve these amazing animals.
If your family loves fresh air and being in the outdoors, Cheetah Outreach is actually a great place for educative and interactive experiences. Needless to say, their ambassador cheetahs can be safely interacted with.
Your family’s fun day out will actually help the various projects they have to save the cheetah for future generations!
The outreach is also home to other small predators and dogs.
You will also find their staff professional, friendly and very knowledgeable about their subjects.

“Absolutely amazing, to get so close and personal with these predators, you realise that there is a certain vulnerability to them. The sharp claws and teeth are merely a means of protection and that they are such sweet souls. I am not one who agrees with humans intervening with nature, but this sanctuary is a safe haven, a sanctuary that has offered these beings a chance at living out there lives in their natural environment, something that has unfortunately been taken from them, mainly because of people wanting exotic pets and then getting bored. They look happy and so well looked after. To everyone who works here that puts in the time and effort, you should all be proud,” wrote Carlos on their TripAdvisor page.
Lucindadavids added; “Owen, was a great guide going into detail about the outreach and even the other animals attached to the place i would have loved to touch one of the cheetahs, but experience was amazing…”
